FAQ'S
How should I set up my files for print?
It's easy with our file set up requirements checklist! Briefly, ensure you have: - included all details and special instructions of your order - supplied your files as a press-ready two page PDF - 3mm internal and external bleed, with crop marks if possible - flattened transparencies - converted all text to curves/ outlines or embedded the fonts - only supplied CMYK files - attached a proof for any extra finishing - zipped your PDF files.
Do you have templates to help me design my job properly?
Yes! As your partner in print, we proudly supply our clients with templates for all our products free-of-charge. These templates show the trim line, bleed and safe area for designing to ensure the smooth processing of your job. Choose the appropriate product and stock on the Artwork Setup page. Templates are available on this page, and are available in multiple file formats.
How can I send you my artwork?
We accept press-ready PDFs uploaded through our online ordering facility, also by email to the respective office location.
Can you quote on something not in the price list?
If it is on any of our stocks, then we certainly can! You can email sales@aussieprinthouse.com and we will respond to you at our earliest convenience. Please ensure you include the quantity, finish and a proof of any extra finishes, such as die cutting or scoring, so that we can accurately quote your job the first time.
What file format/programs do you accept?
We only accept press-ready PDF files for printing. If you cannot supply a PDF due to the software you are using, please call us on 02 8006 2314 and we may be able to assist you further.
Do I get a proof of my job prior to printing?
Unfortunately no. We only accept press-ready files, at Aussie Printhouse we use gang printing, which means similar printing jobs are printed on the same sheet of paper. For business card runs, we may have over 120 different individual jobs on the one sheet. To provide a proof for each of these would not only be time-consuming, but it would also affect the cost-effectiveness of the gang printing process.
How should I name my print files?
For smooth processing, it is advised that you name your files the same or similar to the company name on the job. For instance, a business card for Phillip Smith of Travonics could be named TravonicsphilsmithPRINT.pdf It is recommended you avoid using characters in your file name, including dollar symbols ($) or punctuation (such as dashes [-] or brackets), as they sometimes interfere with our system.
How can I contact you?

What is rich black and how do I get it?
Rich black is a full colour black that gives you a deep black colour, as opposed to using 100% Black, which sometimes results in a washed-out look. If you want to make rich black, we suggest you use 40 Cyan, 40 Magenta, 40 Yellow and 100 Black. This will ensure you do not exceed 250% ink usage, which can lead to set off issues.
What is gang printing?
At Aussie Printhouse we use gang printing to maximise efficiencies. On any particular run, we may have up to 120 individual business card jobs on the one sheet. This means you save money, as you’re sharing the cost of the plates, make-ready and press time. Paper waste is also reduced. The only drawback of gang run printing is its incapability to control the ink thickness for the neighbouring images. Unfortunately, there is very little control over colour variations that have occurred during the gang run printing process. The best result that can be achieved is an average colour of every different piece that is printed on the sheet.
